At the beginning of 2025, the CONFIRMATE project was officially launched. Co-funded by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre and the Digital Europe program, the project aims to strengthen cybersecurity across Europe by developing open-source tools and methodologies that support companies in complying with the new EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
The Cyber Resilience Act is the first EU regulation to introduce mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements, with the goal of improving protection for both companies and consumers. Within this context, CONFIRMATE will deliver automated and scalable solutions to facilitate compliance with the regulation, particularly for SMEs and professionals in the cybersecurity sector.
Following an online meeting on 4th February, all project partners, coordinated by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany (ITKAM), gathered for the first in-person meeting on 25–26 February at ITKAM’s headquarters in Leipzig, Germany. Attendees included Fraunhofer AISEC (Germany), CYEN (Belgium), a company specialized in cybersecurity, and the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (Romania). During the meeting, the consortium defined the operational roadmap for the next 18 months of implementation.
Expected outcomes include:
- The development of compliance-support tools and methodologies
- Technical specifications and practical guidelines
- Training materials and programs for cybersecurity professionals
By supporting the adoption of the CRA, CONFIRMATE aims to contribute to a more secure and resilient digital landscape in Europe.
